Slyk, Christian (Chris) - July 23, 1927 - Staby, Danmark March 8, 2015 - Calgary, Alberta Christian Slyk of Calgary passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2015 at the age of 87 years. Chris immigrated to Canada in 1957 with his wife Ingrid and their four children. He worked for Conforce Construction, retiring as a Master Carpenter at the age of sixty. Christian loved to golf and was always chasing the elusive hole in one. He also enjoyed spending time with family. Christian is survived by five children, Sylvia Duff, Leif-Eric Slyk, Vera Ellefson, Alf Slyk and Rick Slyk; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Hans Slyk of Norway, Karen Gadgaard and Lilian Singer both of Danmark and numerous nieces and nephews. Chris was predeceased by his daughter Yvonne Slyk and brother John Slyk. Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road S. E.) on Friday, March 13, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
