1) Tombstone in Old Cem., Union Tp, Fulton Co, IL: "d. 11-5-1864, aged 48y 8m 11d." Cens rec indicate his age should be "58."
2) In "Cemetery Inscriptions of Fulton Co IL" the age was read as "38." I have seen tombstone and read it as "48."
3) In "History of Fulton County, Illinois" pub 1908, p. 773, Biog. sketch of James I. Babbitt gives ff. info: "Stephen Babbitt, his father, was a native of Pennsylvania, born in Washington County, that State, February 16, 1806,....one of the earliest pioneer settlers of Fulton County, where he located in 1830...."
