2) Mills Co, IA Mar. Reg. 1, FHC film #1491826, Item 5. Mar. Rec. Nov-Dec 1883, p. 38. According to the marriage records of Mills Co, IA, his name was Samuel H. Babbitt, not Sanford. This record states: Babbitt, Sam'l H. Silver City, IA, Clerk, Age 33, b Fulton Co, IL, Parents Stephen Babbitt & Malinda Harrod, 2nd marriage, 20 Dec 1883, Ingraham Tp, to Landon, Clotilda, Silver City, age 23, b Mills Co, parents Erastus F. Landon, Mary J. Looker, wit. E.B. Brown & Mrs. E.B. Brown.
DEATH:
1) Sanford was NOT in the photo of the Babbitt Cousins taken in St. Augustine, IL, about 1905-10. Not in list of Fulton Co, IN cemeteries which includes Babbitt Cemetery near St. Augustine, IN. NOTE:In the Babbitt Family Assoc. records, his death date is given as 15 May 1893, no pl of d given.
2) Mills Co, IA, Death Rec, 1891--1897, found online at www.rootsweb.com/~iamills/. This states Babbitt, S.H., b IL, age 41y 1m, married; died 14 May 1893, Glenwood, bur. Silver City.
