- Nord Brockbank, 72, died March 5, 1994 in a Provo hospital. He was born December 26, 1921 in Huntington, Utah to Orlon J. and Ivy Mariah Black Brockbank. He married LaRue Stephenson May 24, 1943 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Marriage was later solemnized in the St. George LDS Temple.
Along with his wife, he served in the Connecticut Hartford Mission 1985-1986. They were temple ordinance workers for six years and the past year served as missionaries at the historical Cove Fort. He was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in many leadership capacities.
Nord had a 35-year education career with five years teaching in Fillmore and 30 years as a teach and administrator in Lake County, California. He served for five years in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survived by his wife of Fillmore; a son, Douglas and his wife Sherrill; and a grandson, Michael, all of Sacramento, California. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 9, 1994 at 1 p.m. in the Fillmore 1st Ward Chapel. Friends may call Tuesday, 7-9 p.m. at the Olpin Mortuary, Fillmore, and on Wednesday from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the ward chapel. Burial will take place in the Holden Cemetery under the direction of the Olpin Mortuary.
