- Lived in Nelson all of life, first in Tahunanui then married life in Atawhai. Educated Tahunanui School and then Nelson College for Girls Trained as a hospital nurse qualifying as a "Triple-certificated Sister" with which she became a Sister in Charge at hospitals (mainly Lower Hutt Hospital). Married Geoff Candy, Dental Surgeon, and had four children and adopted two more. Managed Geoff's Dental Practice at Stoke, Nelson, New Zealand.
Contracted Multiple Sclerosis and was confined to a wheel-chair for several years. Ill with pneumonia followed by heart attack in December, 2000. Had another heart attack during which broke her hip and expired, in a coma, a few days later on 10th March, 2001. Funeral at Nelson 12th March, 2001.
