With his first wife Kirstine: Margrethe Elisabeth (known to have descendants in 1800s), Jens (died in childhood), Cathrine Kirstine (descendants in 1800s), Jens, Hans (died in childhood), Kirstine. And his second wife Karen: Elisabeth Sophie (descendants in 1800s), Oluf, Anna Malene, and Peder (descendants in 1800s). He is known to have been an officer stationed in Koebenhavn for a time. In 1708 he took over Kofoedgaard, 57aa Slg. in Vestermarie parish. A banner hung in Vestermarie Church bore the following text: "Her under hviler veldle og velbyrdige Hans Jensen Kofoed, Hans Kongel. Mayest. bestalter Captiaine ved det fierde National Compagnie paa Bornholm, tient Hans Mayest. i 60 Aar, for Under- og Ober-Officer, Ober-Officer i 46 og for Capitaine 14 Aar. Barnfoed Ao. 1664 doed 1 Nov. paa Maglegaard i OEster Mari Sogn . . ." (translated from Danish:) "Here under rests the good and hard-working Hans Jensen Kofoed, His Royal Majesty's commissioned Captain with the fourth National Company of Bornholm, serving His Majesty for 60 years, as Under- and Ober- Officer, as OberOfficer for 46 years and as Captain for 14 years. Born 1664 A.D. on the 1st of November at Maglegaard in OEstermarie parish . . ."
