  VerNell Chamberlain Crofts passed away on March 19, 2011. She was born Feb. 21, 1924 in Orderville, Utah to Hans C. and Mercy Blackburn Chamberlain. She married Leo Hoyt Crofts on July 12, 1944 in the Saint George Temple. Leo died March 19, 2007. They moved to Panguitch in1954 where the family opened a lumber mill. They moved to Vernal in 1969 where they started a new sawmill operation. VerNell and Leo had five sons, William Leo who died shortly after birth; Preston Leo (Marilyn) of Westland, Mich.; Edward Patrick (Patricia) of Reno, Nev.; Douglas Hans of Vernal; and James Hoyt (Kolet) of Beaverton, Ore. VerNell is survived by her brothers; LaVell (Dean) Chamberlain, and Quinn (Sylvia) Chamberlain both of Cedar City; and sister, Ramona (Arlo) Hafen of Santa Clara. She is preceded in death by her sister Rena Tait, and brother Ken Chamberlain. A viewing was held at the Vernal Blackburn Mortuary March 24. Funeral services were in Orderville, Utah on Saturday. Interment was at the Orderville City Cemetery under the direction of Blackburn Vernal Mortuary. -Vernal Express, March 2011
