- Mary T. Crofts was the mother of ten children, eight sons and two daughters. She sent two boys to heaven in their infancy - John Edward shortly after his birth and Berdene at age three. She was a fun mother and grandmother, happy and singing in the kitchen where she created the most delicious meals including shoof noodles, statch and cinnamon rolls. But she also had the protectiveness of a mother bear if needed! She was the wife of an ambitious and respected business man, E. Arlos Crofts, who also served two terms in the state legislature. We loved to gather around the piano and listen to her play with her lively style. How she loved lilacs ~ and her soap operas! We used to sit and knit with her as she watched her "shows." She and Grandpa Arlos became temple workers in the Manti Temple. After his passing, she moved to be near oldest daughter Katharine in California for a while, and even served an LDS mission for several months as a senior sister. Nothing made her happier than a room full of friends and family gathered around her table...and that is where I am sure she is on the other side! [1]
